Where does a Three Oaks December actually happen? Look at this year's calendar by address and two streets carry nearly all of it. Generations Drive has the Acorn and Journeyman Distillery. North Elm Street has the Vickers Theatre, Commune+Market and the newest shop downtown. Between the first week of November and the Saturday before Christmas, almost every dated event in the village sits at one of those addresses.
This matters for planning. Each street has its own kind of night. Generations Drive books ticketed shows and markets on a set schedule. North Elm keeps the weekly movie night, the storefronts and the one big fundraiser. On Saturday, Nov. 28, the Snowflake Stroll runs a parade through downtown and the two halves of the season meet for the day.
Two addresses, two kinds of evening
Journeyman Distillery lists its events at The Featherbone Factory, 109 Generations Dr. The Acorn is at 107 Generations Drive, the next street number over. Plan a Generations Drive night in advance. The concerts are ticketed, the times are fixed, and the Acorn prints every show time in both Eastern and Central, which helps when guests are driving in from Central Time.
North Elm runs at a different pace. The Vickers Theatre at 6 North Elm St. has a weekly film series. Commune+Market Events is at 105 N. Elm St., and across the street, at 104 N. Elm St., Goods & Heroes opened a resale offshoot this fall. Most of what happens on Elm needs a free evening, not a ticket booked weeks out.
November builds toward Thanksgiving weekend
The first dated item falls on the day this post goes up. The Vickers runs Throwback Thursday at 7 p.m., and November has three:
- Thursday, Nov. 5: You Can't Take It With You
- Thursday, Nov. 12: October Sky
- Thursday, Nov. 19: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
The last one is a Thanksgiving-travel comedy, and it plays the Thursday before the holiday.
Journeyman opens its holiday season with shopping. On Saturday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 8, Journeyman Distillery hosts its Autumn Artisan Market. It runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern both days, features local makers, and is promoted for holiday gifting. That puts the village's first gift-shopping weekend three weeks ahead of Small Business Saturday.
Thanksgiving weekend fills up both Generations Drive addresses. Comedy on the Rocks plays Journeyman on Friday, Nov. 27, with doors at 7 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m. Eastern. Marcus Hendricks is listed as the headliner. That same night, the Acorn has two shows of Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute, one at 5:30 p.m. and one at 9:30 p.m. Eastern. On Saturday, Nov. 28, it hosts Generational Trauma, a comedy show, at 8 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 29, Open Mic Night featuring Paper Sound at 7 p.m. The Acorn's November calendar has more shows before the holiday as well, so check its listings for the earlier weeks.
The newest door on Elm
North Elm has a new shop this year. Lost + Found, a resale and vintage offshoot of Goods & Heroes, is at 104 N. Elm St. and sells apparel, gifts and other finds. Dunes Diva reported on Sept. 24, 2026 that it had opened a few weeks earlier. Harbor Country News also covered the opening.
Both reports give Friday hours of noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They disagree on Sunday. Dunes Diva lists 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Harbor Country News lists 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holiday hours often change, so check with the shop before a Sunday visit.
This is the shop's first holiday season, and its first Snowflake Stroll.
Nov. 28 is the day the two streets become one walk
The Snowflake Stroll is run by Stroll Community Foundation, which also goes by Stroll Three Oaks and describes itself as a producer of free, inclusive arts and cultural programming in downtown Three Oaks. This year it falls on Saturday, Nov. 28, which is Small Business Saturday. If your family has been using last year's date, update it. The 2025 Stroll was on Nov. 29.
The official event listing and the 2026 business sign-up page lay out the day in order:
- 11 a.m.: Festivities begin downtown, with boutique shopping, local artisans, holiday treats and special events at local businesses.
- 4 to 6 p.m.: The kids' stocking stroll. Children decorate a free stocking, then visit participating businesses for treats, small gifts and creative activities.
- 6 p.m.: The holiday parade leaves Dewey Cannon Park and heads to Carver Park.
- After the parade: The tree-lighting ceremony in Carver Park.
- 8 p.m.: The listed end of the day.
That order makes a few logistics easy to work out. The stocking stroll finishes right as the parade starts, so families with young children can go straight from the last shop to the route. The tree lighting comes at the Carver Park end, so waiting near Carver Park keeps you close to both the end of the parade and the ceremony.
Three other details are useful to know ahead of time. Organizers are building a map of participating businesses, with categories that include shopping, food, drinks, creative activities and entertainment. Businesses can get a rendering on the Holiday Stroll map with a donation of $50 or more. And designated businesses will collect new winter hats, gloves, mittens and toys for local families. The receiving charities were still listed as "TBD" on the sign-up page. If you plan to donate, buy new items, and check which businesses are collecting once the map is published.
December moves to the Acorn
After the Stroll, the season's center shifts back to Generations Drive. The Acorn's December lineup has a show nearly every weekend through Dec. 19, and several are holiday programs.
| Date | Show | Time (ET / CT) |
|---|---|---|
| Friday, Dec. 4 | The Chris White Trio presents "A Charlie Brown Christmas" | 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. |
| Saturday, Dec. 5 | Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts | 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. |
| Sunday, Dec. 6 | Harbor Country Singers Holiday Concert | 4 p.m. / 3 p.m. |
| Friday, Dec. 11 | Abbie Thomas & The Crazy Hearts: Kids on Christmas Tour | 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. |
| Saturday, Dec. 12 | Heartache Tonight, A Tribute to the Eagles | 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. |
| Friday, Dec. 18 | Dixon's Violin | 7 p.m. / 6 p.m. |
| Saturday, Dec. 19 | A Celtic Christmas Featuring On The Lash | 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. |
The first weekend in December is the busiest, with three shows from Friday to Sunday. The Sunday show is the one to circle if you're hosting family or don't want to pay for tickets. The Acorn's listing for the Harbor Country Singers Holiday Concert says it's free and that the program includes Christmas and Hanukkah music. At 4 p.m. Eastern, it's also the only afternoon show on the December list.
Three shows on the list are tagged for families: "A Charlie Brown Christmas," the Harbor Country Singers and Abbie Thomas's Kids on Christmas Tour. The Acorn updates its listings online, so check the Acorn's site before you buy.
Dec. 19 is the one night both streets compete
The last Saturday before Christmas is the only December night with a major event on each street at once. On Generations Drive, A Celtic Christmas Featuring On The Lash plays the Acorn at 8 p.m. Eastern. On North Elm, Commune+Market hosts the 2026 Snowball from 7 to 11 p.m.
The Snowball is a holiday dance and fundraiser, now in its second year, for Neighbor by Neighbor. According to Neighbor by Neighbor's website, the organization helps neighbors in crisis with food, housing and utility needs and connects them with education and other trusted resources. The Commune+Market event listing said tickets would go on sale in October, with more details to come.
The two start times are an hour apart, so most people will have to choose one. Choose early. The concert is ticketed by seat, and the Snowball's details are still being filled in.
If you're getting your calendar ready for guests this season, or you'd like to talk about how Three Oaks compares with its Harbor Country neighbors, Joy Schwarting is happy to share what she knows of the village and its streets. Schedule a Consultation whenever it suits you, even if that's after the tree lighting.
